NEWS: the high-level and detailed schedule are online! You can see them via the "Program" link on the left.
Please note that we are looking for session chairs. If you are willing to help, please contact Roni Stern.
If you have not registered yet, pleast do so ASAP in the SoCS 2015 registration site. All details regarding registration and accomodation are given here.
Heuristic search and other forms of combinatorial search optimization are still a very active areas of research in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Planning and other areas of Computer Science. The International Symposium on Combinatorial Search (SoCS) is meant to bring researchers in such areas together to exchange their ideas and cross-fertilize the field.
SoCS is targeting researchers and submissions in all fields that use combinatorial search, including artificial intelligence, planning, robotics, constraint programming, meta-reasoning, operations research, navigation, and bioinformatics. We also invites submissions presenting real-world applications of heuristic search.
Previous SoCS events have provided a special focus on big data (2014), graph search engineering (2013), grid-based path planning (2012), search in robotics (2011), and automated planning (2010). This year, SoCS specifically invites submissions on applying meta-reasoning to combinatorial search.
SoCS 2015 will be held in the Ein Gedi Hotel,
Ein Gedi, Israel at June 11-13, 2015 right after the
ICAPS'15 conference.
The first SoCS day (June 11) will feature a special joint session with ICAPS .
SoCS this year should be very exciting, with distinguished speakers such as Prof. Stuart Russell and Prof. Maxim Likhachev, as well as a special talk on the Grid Pathfinding Competition by Prof. Nathan Sturtevant (see here for more details). For a social event, there will be a guided tour of Masada, an ancient fortification situated on top of an isolated rocky plateau that dates back to the 1st century BC.
Also, we have made a special effort to make SoCS easily accessible with low registration fees (see details here), and travel suppport will also be available. see applications details here.
